Rep. Joe Wilson Hospitalized
The congressman for the second district contracted Lyme disease last week, according to his office.
Rep. Joe Wilson was hospitalized this week for fever, his spokesman confirmed late Wednesday evening.
Neal Patel, when asked about Wilson's health status, replied with a one-sentence response: "He was admitted into the hospital for an extended fever."
He did not say when Wilson was admitted, how long the hospital stay was expected to be, how high the fever was, or what hospital.
His office confirmed last week that he contracted Lyme disease while working in his yard.
It is unclear if Wilson is still in the hospital.
Wilson's tour of the second district that was scheduled for this week was postponed last week.
Wilson represents the second district which extends from Columbia to Hilton Head.
